Starthrowers is a Wymondham charity ‘caring for people affected by cancer’.

They have asked if we have any strong adults who would be able to help to set up and clear away for the above event. Set up will be on Friday 30th and clearing away on the Sunday. Please let me know if you can help, I know you’re a very kind hearted bunch !

I will also be asking the children if they will be willing to grow some fruit, veg or herb plants which will then be sold to raise money for Starthrowers. I will be able to provide some pots and a few seeds but if anyone has any seeds spare I’d be very grateful.

Entry is for anyone of school years 6-13.

Years 6,7,8 and 9 need to be at least orange belt.

Years 10 & 11 need to be minimum green belt

Years 12 & 13 need to be minimum blue belt.

If you have a BJA licence, you simply enter your licence number and date of birth to get started. If you are a BJC(MAC) licence holder – you will need to write ‘British Judo Council (MAC)’ in the box labelled Judo Association. (note – the BJC(MAC) insurance has been previously submitted and accepted for this event, so you won’t need to forward a copy)

The grades follow the BJA mon grade and they convert as follows

7 mon = orange & orange +1

8 mon = orange +2 and orange +3

9 mon = orange +4 and orange  +5

10 mon = green & green +1

11 mon = green +2 & green +3

12 mon = green +4 and green +5

13 mon = blue & blue +1

14 mon = blue +2 & blue +3

15 mon = blue +4 & blue +5

16 mon = brown & brown +1

17 mon = brown +2 & brown +3

18 mon = brown +4 & brown +5

Please be sure to enter your correct school details, as they will contact your school to confirm that you are genuine.

You will need to make the school aware (we suggest the head of PE and the school secretary for a high school, and your headteacher/secretary for primary/middle schools) so that they can confirm your entry!

If you have competed there before, then you already have our support to enter again. If you have not entered it before you may want to speak with Chris or David before entering as it is a very high standard event.
